The Secret to Managing Two Podcasts, a Business, and My Sanity (Without Burning Out)

The Secret to Managing Two Podcasts, a Business, and My Sanity (Without Burning Out)

May 23, 20254 min read

Let’s get real—running one podcast can feel like a full-time job. Running two podcasts while also running a business (or two) and, you know, having a life? That’s a whole new level of chaos.

But here’s the truth: with the right systems, the right mindset, and the right support (shoutout to my team), managing multiple shows doesn’t have to mean burning out. In this post, I’m pulling back the curtain on how I manage it all—from the tools I swear by, to the calendar boundaries that protect my sanity.

Let’s dive in.

🧩 Why Juggling Multiple Podcasts Doesn’t Have to Break You
Your podcast is a platform for your voice. And if you’re a multi-passionate entrepreneur like me, chances are your ideas don’t fit neatly in one box.
That’s why I host Happiness Happens and As It Relates to Podcasting—two very different shows, both equally aligned with who I am and what I want to say.

But let’s be honest: running multiple shows can quickly become overwhelming. It’s not just about hitting “record.” It’s strategy, planning, editing, promoting, repeating. And when life gets loud? The mic can get quiet.

Here’s how I’ve learned to keep it all flowing—without losing my mind in the process.

🧠 Step 1: Know What You Love, and Let Go of the Rest
Not everything on your plate is meant for you to carry forever.

Ask yourself:

  • What lights you up in your podcast process?

  • What drains your energy faster than a dead mic battery?

For me? I love strategy. I love showing up on the mic. But editing? Reviewing client scripts? Scheduling? Not so much. That’s where my team steps in—and trust me, I couldn’t do this without them.

💡 Can’t hire a team yet? Start by looking at what you can offload—maybe a service swap or part-time freelancer. Creativity counts as currency too.

🛠️ Step 2: Use a System That Actually Supports You
You need a place to put all your ideas, your to-dos, your episode planning, your guest info… and that place should not be a Google Sheet from 2019.

For me, that place is Northflow (yes, I co-founded it—because I couldn’t find what I needed, so we built it).

Inside Northflow, I can:

  • Upload my RSS feed + organize shows in one place

  • Plan out future episodes by season or theme

  • Assign tasks to team members

  • Store guest info, links, and headshots

  • Schedule interviews

  • View everything on a production calendar

Whether you’re a solo creator or run a full podcast agency like me, you need structure that helps you stay creative, not stifle it.

📆 Step 3: Calendar Boundaries = Sanity
I used to think freedom meant doing whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted.
But real freedom? Is having structure that protects your energy.

Here’s how I plan my week:

  • Mondays + Fridays: No client calls—reserved for deep work and recovery

  • Blocks for North Flow, Volt Productions, client work, and podcasting

  • Time set aside just for recording (no multitasking allowed)

This rhythm gives me enough flexibility to handle real life and enough structure to not feel like I’m constantly playing catch-up.

🔥 The 3-Show Management Stack (Cliff Notes)

  1. Clarity: Know what show is for what message

  2. Systems: Use North Flow to track, schedule, and simplify

  3. Support: Delegate what drains you—even if that means starting small

💬 Real Talk: You Don’t Need to Do It All Perfectly
Some weeks, I batch episodes ahead of time. Other weeks, I record on the fly.
Some seasons, I pause a show to protect my energy (hi, Happiness Happens).
And that’s okay. Because aligned creation beats burned-out perfection every time.

If you’re managing multiple shows or even just dreaming about launching your second one—know this: you’re not behind. You’re building something real. One episode at a time.

💻 Final Thoughts: Your Podcast Should Work With Your Life
Your podcast is a tool, not a to-do list. It should bring you closer to your goals, your people, your purpose—not further into overwhelm.

If you’re craving a system to help you manage multiple shows without losing your spark, let’s talk.
👉 Book a discovery call and let’s build a podcast process that fits your life—not the other way around.

You've got the voice. Let’s build the workflow to back it up.
